Terms of use

Last updated 16 October 2026

The short version. On the FridgeDoor is free to use while it’s in early access. Use it for your own family, keep your sign-in to yourself, and don’t rely on it for anything where a missed reminder could cause harm.

Who can use it

The app is set up and managed by parents or carers (18 or over). Children can use it on a device a parent has set up, but they don’t have their own accounts.

Your household and your account

Reminders

We work hard to send reminders on time, but phones, networks and notification services can delay or drop them. Please don’t rely on the app for anything critical such as medication, medical appointments or safety checks.

Recipes and food

Recipes are a guide. Cook meat until it’s steaming hot with no pink, follow packet instructions where they differ, and always check packaging for allergens. Diet tags are worked out from ingredient lists and may not catch everything.

Calendars you connect

Connected calendars are read-only: the app shows them but never changes them. Other parents in your household can see what you share, unless you choose “busy only”.

Changes and availability

The app is provided as it is, and we may change features as it develops. If we ever need to stop the service or start charging for something you already use, we’ll tell you in the app at least 30 days before and give you a way to export your data (Settings › Backup).

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under UK consumer law. Beyond that, we’re not responsible for losses caused by missed reminders, recipe results, or data you didn’t back up.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
